Premierships aren't won in April, but according to Sportsbet they are!
The Australian bookmaker has already paid out on Melbourne to win the 2021 AFL premiership. Talk about going the early crow.
The undefeated Demons knocked off Richmond by 34 points on Saturday night for their sixth-straight victory to open the season.
Simon Goodwin's team sits second on the ladder only to the unbeaten Western Bulldogs ahead of upcoming clashes against North Melbourne, Sydney, Carlton and Adelaide.
Could the Dees go 10-0!?

There is no denying that Melbourne look the goods, but paying out on them in late April to win the flag seems a little premature. Heck, Sportsbet doesn't even have them as the premiership favourites, with shorter odds for the Power, Tigers and Bulldogs.
And according to a number of other bookmakers and analytics sites, Melbourne are also not the frontrunners for the 2021 flag.
While the Zero Hangerย team is all for the Dees ending a 57-year drought, we just thought paying it out after Round 6 was a little strange.
