St Kilda has confirmed the re-signing of young duo Hugo Garcia and Angus Hastie until the end of 2027.
The pair has featured at the elite level after making their debuts in 2024 after being taken in the same draft.
Hastie was snapped up with Pick 33 while Garcia came shortly behind him at Pick 50 in the 2023 National Draft.
Hastie, who has played five games, has continued to develop his defensive craft as an agile and versatile backman.
"It's great to sign this new deal, especially alongside Hugo," Hastie said.
โHe and I have been really lucky to be welcomed into the club togetherโwe've felt at home here since day one.
"As we head into the season, I just hope I can keep learning, be prepared for opportunities when they come along, and do everything I can to contribute to the team."
Garcia shared the same sentiment, and is keen to add to his nine senior matches.
"At the club we've got some incredible coaches who have been really impactful on my time at the Saints so far," Garcia said.
"When you've got guys like Lenny Hayes and Robert Harvey teaching you how to play in the midfield, you really can't ask for anyone better to learn from!
"There's a young group of us who are really invested in not only making sure we're getting better as individuals but also, even though we're young, driving the standards of the whole group."
Saints EGM of Football David Misson shared his delight that the pair has recommitted for an extra two seasons.
"We've loved what we've seen from Angus and Hugo so far," Misson said.
"They're competitive, unrelenting, and very driven to get the most out of themselves for the betterment of the team.
"We believe this extra security will allow both young men to focus on their footy and really hone their craft.
"Internally, we can't wait to see what the next few years have in store for them, and I'm sure Saints fans feel the same way."
Both Hastie and Garcia are in the frame for Round 1 selection after an impressive summer.
On the injury front, Cooper Sharman will miss the next four weeks after fracturing his thumb in last week's pre-season clash.
Mitch Owens will also be a watch for the season opener against Adelaide after hurting his shoulder, but scans revealed positive news.
Rowan Marshall, Jack Sinclair, Hunter Clark and Zak Jones all remain in contention for Round 1.
Mattaes Phillipou is out of a moonboot and is 8-10 weeks away while Dougal Howard (shoulder) and Paddy Dow (knee) are progressing well.
