The AFL's Match Review Officer has handed down no charges from Friday night's clash between St Kilda and Brisbane despite two Saints players being placed on report.
Forward Max King was reported for striking during the second quarter of the match following a marking contest with Brisbane defender Ryan Lester. The MRO has offered an explanation for why King was not charged for striking.
"The matchday report laid against St Kilda's Max King from the second quarter of Friday's game between St Kilda and the Brisbane Lions was assessed," an MRO statement read.
"The ball is kicked towards St Kilda's forward 50. The Brisbane Lions' Ryan Lester takes possession of the ball at half back and negligible high contact is made by King.
"It was the view of the MRO that there was insufficient force to constitute a reportable offence. No further action was taken."
The MRO offered a similar explanation for why defender Liam Stoker did not receive a charge after being placed on report in the same quarter for a dangerous tackle on Lion Eric Hipwood.
"The matchday report laid against St Kilda's Liam Stocker from the second quarter of Friday's game between St Kilda and the Brisbane Lions was assessed," an MRO statement read.
"The Brisbane Lions' Eric Hipwood takes possession of ball in the Brisbane forward 50 and is tackled by Stocker.
"It was the view of the MRO that the tackle did not constitute a reportable offence including because no high contact occurred. No further action was taken."
Having both avoided suspensions, King and Stocker will be free for selection for Round 16. St Kilda's fixture sees them travel to Perth to face West Coast at Optus Stadium next Sunday.
