St Kilda's Max King is set for more surgery on his troublesome knee, which could delay his return.
King hasn't been sighted in 2025, playing his last game against Port Adelaide in Round 16 last year.
The 24-year-old was set for an interrupted start to the new campaign anyway, but has run into consistent roadblocks with the upcoming procedure set to help relieve some pain.
King suffered the injury in the intra-club on February 7 and has been sidelined since.
St Kilda EGM of Football David Misson wouldn't reveal the timeline of his return, but is hopeful to get more clarity post the operation.
