St Kilda have unveiled a new face to take on Essendon, with Angus Hastie set to make his debut for the club.

Taken with Pick 33 in last year's draft, Hastie has been a revelation throughout his first pre-season in the AFL, impressing coach Ross Lyon and earning his stripes in the senior side.

Listed as a rebounding defender, the 18-year-old can play on a range of different players.

Hastie - who was a renowned cricketer and basketballer - played for the Geelong Falcons in the Coates League and featured in the opening VFL match last weekend.

The 190cm utility gathered 17 possessions and took six marks, whilst slotting a goal in his first outing in the reserves.

Hastie will be the fifth St Kilda debutant this year, following on from fellow first-years Darcy Wilson and Lance Collard, plus Saints first-gamers Liam Henry and Riley Bonner.
