St Kilda veteran Brad Hill is reportedly open to leaving Moorabbin at season's end, potentially joining a fourth AFL club.
Hill is currently contracted to the Saints until the end of 2025, having joined St Kilda on a long-term deal priced at roughly $900,000 per season at the end of 2019.
The 29-year-old has pieced together a decorated career across stints at Hawthorn, Fremantle and St Kilda, winning three premierships with the Hawks and a best and fairest award in 2017 with the Dockers.
Like the Saints, Hill has struggled to deliver on his potential in recent years, prompting criticism of his contract and ability to reach his value.
St Kilda handed Fremantle Blake Acres and Picks 10, 58 and two future selections in return for Hill, a trade that has swayed heavily in favour of the Dockers.
Now, nearing the completion of his third season with the Saints and the 11th of his career, Hill is assessing his options for 2023 and beyond, according to AFL Media's Cal Twomey.
“He has three years to go on his contract, but my understanding is he’s open to a potential trade which of course would be his fourth AFL club across his career,” Twomey told SEN.
“He’s had three years at the Saints and been shuffled around in different roles. He really hasn’t got going, clearly, to his previous form.
“The complication with all of this is the remaining three years on his deal at $900,000 or so a year.
“I think at the moment it’s Bradley Hill who is open to it, but we wait and see how the next month or so evolves.”
According to News Corp, North Melbourne are believed to be making a play for Hill, with the Roos potentially reuniting the veteran midfielder with his former coach Alastair Clarkson, who has been linked to club's current vacancy.
It is understood that Roos star Jy Simpkin is playing a leading role in North Melbourne's attempt to lure Hill to Arden Street.
Hill has played 210 games across his three clubs, making his debut with Hawthorn in 2012.
The Kangaroos have flagged a desire to add experience to their young list, which would have some space to accommodate Hill's contract.
