St Kilda wingman Mason Wood has put pen to paper, signing a new three-year extension to remain at the club until the end of 2027.
Wood has been a vital cog in the Saints' lineup since landing at Moorabbin ahead of the 2022 season after falling out of favour at North Melbourne.
Following a breakout 2023 campaign, the 30-year-old battled with injury in the early part of the year but managed to regain some of his impressive form, playing some of his best football and showing strong signs of leadership.
Wood was appreciative of the opportunity at St Kilda and is excited by what the club can produce next year and beyond.
“It's a great feeling to remain a Saint. The club gave me an opportunity four years ago, and I've cherished every moment since,” Wood said.
“I'm excited to build on the momentum we've gathered in the back half of the season and do everything I can to set us up for season 2025 and beyond.”
St Kilda EGM of Football David Misson was glad the versatile tall was keen to remain on the list.
“Mason is a highly valued contributor to our footy club, both on and off the field,” Misson said.
“From the wing to the forward line, his ability to provide impact and influence is an important asset for us.
Wood's experience and leadership will help revitalise the youthful Saints after a disappointing 2024 season.
