Fremantle skipper Nat Fyfe has been ruled out of this Saturday night's Derby clash against West Coast.

Dockers general manager of football Peter Bell revealed that scans on Monday confirmed a strain in the star midfielder's right hamstring.

โ€œNat got through the game against St Kilda on Saturday,โ€ Bell told the club website.

โ€œOn Monday, we had him do some tests on his right hamstring and he reported 100 per cent strength.

โ€œOn Tuesday after a training run he pulled up with a little bit of soreness so we sent him off for a scan.

โ€œThe scan indicated that he has a small strain to his right hamstring in a different area to the previous one, so unfortunately he will miss this week and potentially a few more games after that.

โ€œNat will get stuck into his rehabilitation and, hopefully, weโ€™ll see him in a few weeks."

In other injury news, two young defenders - Hayden Young (ankle) and Griffin Logue (toe) - are set for an extended stint on the sidelines.

โ€œHayden had a right ankle injury and thatโ€™s been diagnosed as a syndesmosis injury,โ€ Bell said.

โ€œHaydenโ€™s had surgery on that and is at home recuperating at the moment, then heโ€™ll go into a longer term rehabilitation.

โ€œIโ€™m not sure exactly how long that will be, we are hopeful he will be back to play some football at the tail end of this season.โ€

Logue has been diagnoses with toe turf.

โ€œUnfortunately Griffin has turf toe, which is a reasonably serious injury around that right big toe,โ€ Bell said.

โ€œThe rehab plan for him is to have about five weeks of partial weight bearing to protect that toe and let it recover and then build from there.

โ€œItโ€™s another longer term injury and weโ€™re hopeful heโ€™ll be back later in the year.โ€

Fremantle and West Coast will face off at Optus Stadium on Saturday night at 6.35pm (AEST).
