Western Bulldogs star Josh Dunkley set to return this week after a lengthy stint out with a shoulder injury.

The 24-year-old has been missing since Round 6 but will now slot back into the Bulldogs midfield. Head of sports medicine at the Bulldogs, Chris Bell said that Dunkley's rehab had gone very well and he was fit and firing.

“Josh’s rehabilitation following his shoulder reconstruction has gone fantastically well,” Bell said.

“He has been back into full training for the last couple of weeks and hasn’t missed a beat.

“He will be looking to put his hand up for selection this weekend.”

Dunkley had been averaging over 30 disposals per game before getting injured and was showing just why the Bulldogs worked so hard to keep him over the off-season.

He asked for more midfield time and was paying back the faith put in him by Luke Beveridge in spades.

The Bulldogs face the Suns on Saturday afternoon at Metricon Stadium.
