The Demons will receive a huge boost for Thursday nights' huge top-of-the-table clash against Geelong, with coach Simon Goodwin confirming that stars Max Gawn and Luke Jackson will return to the side.
Gawn has missed the Demons' past two matches with a syndesmosis injury, while Jackson was a late withdrawal last week from their clash against the Crows due to a knee injury.
Speaking to the media, Goodwin confirmed that the duo would be named in the Wednesday night's team to face the Cats.
"I wouldn't be playing them if they weren't 100 per cent. They're ready to go," he said.
"Both guys were really touch and go to get up for last week.
"Max had an incredibly strong session on Saturday in Adelaide and Jacko was very similar back in Melbourne.
"They're itching to get out there and play.
"They're a big part of our footy team and to get them both back in at once is really exciting."
Thursday night shapes as a huge opportunity for Demons to build a gap at the summit of the ladder with a victory at GMHBA Stadium, after regaining top spot with back-to-back wins over the Lions and Crows in the last two weeks.
The second-placed Cats will be gunning for a seventh straight win with a victory over the in-form Demons with top spot on potentially on offer for Chris Scott's side.
In recent times, the Dees have had the edge over the Cats, winning all three encounters last season on their way to a premiership but the Cats will be hoping to quell those demons at home.
The Cats and Demons have met in some great clashes in Geelong in past seasons with Zach Tuohy (2018) and Max Gawn (2021) winning games for both sides after-the-siren at Kardinia Park, in what shapes to be a blockbuster clash.
