Star Eagle defender Jeremy McGovern has been sent to hospital following West Coast's 54-point defeat to Melbourne at the MCG, with concerns of a potential lung or rib injury.
Coach Adam Simpson shared the news post-match,ย revealing the 32-year-old may not be fit to board a flight back home from Melbourne tonight.
โMcGovern has been sent to hospital with some sort of lung or rib issue, we will need to make sure he is okay to fly home today.โ

The four-time All-Australian played out the match seemingly without issue, finishing with 15 disposals, six marks and eight intercept possessions, as teammate Tyler Brockman was tactically subbed.
The news compounds what was a dour day for the Eagles, falling 112-58 to the Demons in Harley Reid's first MCG outing, after conceding a 45-point opening term.
It also may dampen hopes of another All-Australian blazer for McGovern, who was enjoying one of his best season's to date in the Eagle defence.
The club will provide an update in the coming days as the side return home and prepare to meet Brisbane at home next Sunday.
