For three quarters, the Tigers ran right up the tail of the Hawthorn Hawks, with the reigning premieres only pulling away in the last.

The man of the match of Friday’s encounter was Luke Breust, who, along with booting six goals, also picked up 14 disposals around the ground to help his team to victory.

Josh Jenkins

Call Josh Jenkins the player of the round, with his eight goals the highest tally of anyone so far this year. He also finished with 13 disposals and took seven marks.

However, it was not enough for his side to grab the win, going down to the Western Bulldogs by three goals.

Lance Franklin

Most key forwards will have circled their team’s match against the Bombers this year, and Lance Franklin certainly made the most of his outing against the Dons.

In the Swans’ 81-point win, Franklin booted six majors, and could have had more, putting three through for behinds. He also contributed through the midfield, finishing with 21 touches.

Isaac Heeney

Young Isaac Heeney was the other star of the show for Sydney on the weekend, with him and Buddy kicking over half the team’s total.

Heeney kicked five goals, picked up 22 disposals and took nine marks in what was undoubtedly his best performance this season.

Nick Riewoldt

Nick Riewoldt rarely plays a bad game, and his performance on Sunday afternoon was no different, finishing with three goals, 24 disposals and 16 marks.

However, it was just not quite enough to get his beloved Saints over the line, as they went down by seven points to North Melbourne in a entertaining and controversial affair.
