It seems the interest in Gold Coast runner Jeremy Sharp from Western Australian sides might be mutual, with the fringe Sun reportedly "keen" for a return to his home state through either Fremantle or West Coast.
Reports last week suggested the Dockers and Eagles, as well as Melbourne-based clubs, have shown an interest in Sharp despite his contract status with the Suns for 2023.
Sharp, a product out of East Fremantle, has shown plenty of promise in his 23 AFL appearances for the Suns since joining the club in 2019, while averaging 27 disposals, 7.9 marks and 5.5 inside 50s in the VFL this year.
The Eagles will be looking top replenish their list where possible after a disastrous 2022 campaign, while the Dockers may see Sharp as an ideal addition given the anticipated exits of Blake Acres and Darcy Tucker to Victoria.
According to 9 News Perth's Paddy Sweeney, Sharp is understood to be open to a move to WA this off-season, with Fremantle seen as a more likely landing spot.
The loss of Sharp would further hinder Stuart Dew's flank stocks for next season, having lost Lachie Weller, Connor Budarick and Wil Powell to long-term injuries for the opening half of the 2023 season.
A trade request to Gold Coast from Saint Ben Long is sure to offset any potential exit for Sharp at the Queensland club.
The Suns are reportedly open to moving on midfielder Brayden Fiorini this off-season, according to The Herald Sun, with the 25-year-old in line for a move to Collingwood.
Gold Coast may green light a Fiorini request back to Victoria, giving Dew the ability to shed the onballer's $600,000 2023 fee to the Magpies.
The Pies could split that sum into a multi-year deal, similar to how the final year of Will Brodie's contract was extended into 2023, splitting $300,000 in each year.
Fiorini played just the 14 matches under Dew in 2022, finding opportunities more scarce given the preference of Touk Miller, Noah Anderson and Matthew Rowell in midfield.
