The Gold Coast Suns are reportedly eyeing a number a midfielders from rival clubs to replace their outgoing stars.

Midfield duo Dion Prestia and Jaeger O'Meara have already requested trades, while the future of David Swallow is still unclear.

The Herald Sun reports that the Suns are chasing Port Adelaide's Hamish Hartlett and Geelong's George Horlin-Smith.

Hartlett is contracted until 2020 after signing a six-year deal last season, however, the Power may look to trade the 26-year-old to free up salary cap space and regenerate their list following a hugely disappointing 2016.

Geelong's Horlin-Smith has been unable to break into the senior side this season, playing just one game this year and a total of 40 six seasons at Geelong.

However, he has enjoyed an impressive season at VFL level, starring for the Cats in the middle of the ground.

He enjoyed a breakout season in 2014, playing 21 games, including both finals, but managed just seven games in 2015, before falling down the pecking order.

The 23-year-old has averaged 15.1 disposals, 6.8 contested possessions, 1.8 inside 50s and 2.6 tackles per games in his career thus far.

Reports emerged last night that the Suns are also very interested in acquiring the services of Western Bulldogs onballer, Lin Jong.
