Gold Coast Suns forward Brandon Matera looks all but certain to leave the club this off-season.
Matera played 10 games this season in an injury plagued year, kicking 22 goals, but the 25-year-old looks set to seek a fresh start and return to his home state of Western Australia after undergoing a medical with the Fremantle Dockers.
Matera's manager, Colin Young confirmed on WA Today on Sunday his client met with the Dockers last week and will request a move at the start of the trade period.
"He was in there on Friday and had a medical test," Matera's manager, Colin Young, told FootyWA.
"We'll be meeting with both Gold Coast and Fremantle this week and we'll see where it sits.
"No (interest from West Coast), we've met with Fremantle at this stage.
"He had a pretty good pre-season. He knew it was going to be a tough season for the club.
"I thought it was one of his best (seasons).
"I think the best football is ahead for Brandon Matera."
Matera, an inaugural player with the Suns, has played a total of 101 games for the club, kicking 124 goals.
