Gold Coast is said to have "mild" interest in securing the services of Jed Anderson, with the midfielder still without a contract to remain at North Melbourne.

Anderson, 28, joined the Roos' chorus in 2016 after spending three seasons as a Hawk, claiming a VFL premiership with Hawthorn's affiliate Box Hill in 2013.

While Anderson still has plenty to offer at the elite level, as evidenced by his mean of 22 disposals across 14 outings this season, the Northern Territorian remains unsigned at Arden Street ahead of the 2023 season.

With former first-round draftee Jack Bowes all but certain to depart Carrara in the coming days, the Suns could be set to swoop on Anderson as coverage ahead of the deadline.

As reported by 7News' Mitch Cleary, while there is an interest to bring the two-way midfielder to the Sunshine State, it is far from the Suns' most important order of business.

"Jed Anderson is still without a contract. He has mild interest from Gold Coast," Cleary claimed.

"The 28-year-old midfielder (is) one to keep tabs on heading into the final four days of the trade period."

Across the course of his nine-year AFL career, Anderson has produced averages of nigh-on 18 disposals and over 4.5 tackles throughout his 99 appearances.

Yet, given North Melbourne's desire to stack their engine room with blossoming talents to stand alongside the likes of Luke Davies-Uniacke and Jy Simpkin, the former Giants' pre-selection is unlikely to continue in blue and white bars.

Though a shift closer to family in the Top End may yet eventuate for Anderson, Gold Coast list boss Craig Cameron currently has his hands full facilitating deals to get Bowes to Geelong and Izak Rankine home to Adelaide.

Ahead of the trade floors re-opening on Monday, the Suns are currently armed with picks 7, 45, 46, 56, 71, 74 and 83 in an effort to get any further deals done.
