SuperCoach: Round Two surprise packets and disappointments

Another interesting week in the world of SuperCoach. Most coaches scored strongly, despite some lacklustre performances, and late withdrawals. Let's take a look at those players who took us all by surprise by their impressive output, and those who struggled despite high expectations.

SURPRISE PACKETS

Clayton Oliver (MEL|MID|$382,500) - 139 points

The Melbourne youngster came out and put on a show for the Demons on Sunday for the second week running. He racked up 35 touches, while also laying an impressive nine tackles. Great output from a player who comes in at under $400,000.

Will Hoskin-Elliott (COLL|FWD|$213,300) - 120 points

Hoskin-Elliott was at his best for the Pies on the weekend. The former GWS-player led the game with three goals, while also recording 21 disposals and 12 marks. At such a cheap price, 120 points is a fantastic effort.

Sam Reid (SYD|FWD|$275,300) - 115 points

If he does it again it won't be a surprise. Two weeks in a row Reid has been a surprise packet, his effort against the Western Bulldogs topping his round one performance. If the trend continues it will stop being a surprise, but for this week, he remains on the list.

Braydon Preuss (NM|RUC|$123,900) - 111 points

The late withdrawal of Todd Goldstein would have driven coaches who had the superstar in their line-up mad. However, the eyes of those who had selected Preuss lit up as the game progressed. The big man dominated the ruck, while also being a huge presence around the ground with 13 disposals and four marks. A great effort from the second gamer.

Andy Otten (ADE|DEF|$123,900) - 108 points

Coming off an injury has meant Otten's price is low. But his 108 point performance this early was still a surprise. The defender managed to kick a goal, while also collecting 17 disposals and four marks. A great effort which will please the 43.9% of coaches who have him.

DISAPPOINTMENTS

Jason Castagna (RICH|DEF|$253,600) - 36 points

After scoring 96 last week there were high hopes for Castagna, however, his score of 36 against the Pies wasn't ideal. As a low priced player, inconsistency is expected, but many coaches will be hoping in the future his low scoring games won't drop below 50.

Alex Fasolo (COLL|FWD|$415,300) - 43 points

Fasolo played 90% of Thursday's game, but struggled to produce a decent score. He only managed 11 disposals at an efficiency of 36.4%. Inaccuracy in front of goal didn't help his cause either.

Andrew Swallow (NM|MID|$464,800) - 41 points

The former North Melbourne captain looked to enjoy less responsibility in round one, scoring 109. However, against Geelong he was kept very quiet, managing a score of only 41. Swallow only played 63% of the game which is interesting, whether he was carrying an injury into the game is unknown.

Tom J. Lynch (GC|FWD|$507,200) - 43 points

Lynch cracked the 100 last week, but against GWS he didn't get close. He only managed 14 touches, while also recording five clangers. He gave away three free kicks, and didn't kick a goal. A tough week for the star, he should bounce back next week, but for now he finds himself in the disappointments.

Heath Shaw (GWS|DEF|$576,500) - 53 points

One of the most expensive defenders in the game did not provide much for 76,000+ coaches. He scored 118 last week, but after only 15 touches, and four clangers, his round two score was a lot less, despite a 102-point win over the Suns.
