Although your trigger finger may be itchy, we have crunched the numbers to allow for your trade moves to be educated rather than erratic.

Here are the names that every coach should be looking to bring in, ship out and keep an eye on ahead of Round 2.

Buy

Callum Mills - $544,800

The Swans gun had no problems moving into the engine room, amassing a game-high 154 points against the Lions - placing him third overall for total points after Round 1.

Should coaches be looking to pull the trigger early on their underperforming defensive premiums (Ryan, Howe, Haynes), Mills firms as a great POD at the start of the week, currently in 2.8% of sides.

Mills will take on the Crows this week before facing the Tigers in Round 3, a side he scored 173 points against in their last matchup.

Sam Walsh - $543,300

Many had tipped the Blues rising star to take his game to a new level in 2021 off the back of a strong finish to last year, and he looks to be doing just that after scoring 122 points against the Tigers.

Walsh averaged 118 in the eight rounds following the bye and looks primed to carry that form into this year as a key figure in the Blues' midfield.

With Matt Rowell expected to miss the coming months due to a knee injury, Walsh is a formidable trade option should you have a spare $50k.

Bulldogs Midfielders

It seems Adam Treloar's arrival at the kennel has had little impact on scores for the plethora of Bulldogs premiums going off Friday's performance.

The former Magpie featured in just two centre bounce contests, leaving plenty of opportunities and midfield minutes to the household named at the club.

With Macrae, Dunkley, Smith, Liberatore and Hunter all surpassing triple figures and Bontempelli putting up a respectable 92 points, there looks to be little concern for stolen points for the Bulldogs.

Hold

Brodie Grundy - $648,200

If you followed the set and forget model going into Round 1, you would have come out of the lockout with some frustration.

Grundy and Max Gawn combined for a below-par total of 163 on the weekend, while $123,900 rookie Matt Flynn top scored for rucks with his 140.

The Magpies star faces Carlton in Round 2, with his past three scores against the Blues sitting at 127, 141,154.

The story is very similar for his two opponents that follow, as he faces Brisbane (104,100,110) and Greater Western Sydney (135, 157, 139) in rounds three and four respectively.

Taylor Adams - $588,800

The 2.2% of coaches that were lift with a dismal 42 points from the 2020 Copeland Trophy winner would rightfully be fuming at Adams' output from the weekend.

The rookie-esque score is sure to damage the ball-magnets' breakeven and subsequent price, but for those that picked the Collingwood premium must have been doing so with him in mind to finish out the season in their squad.

Coaches must be prepared to hold onto their premiums early into the season and not trade irrationally unless suspension and injury take their toll.

A total of 200 points in his past two clashes against the Blues, expect Adams to hit triple-figures in Round 2 as he has plenty to prove.

Patrick Cripps - $523,700

Over 50,000 coaches took Cripps into Round 1 off the back of his pre-season hype, only to be left with 88 points in return.

Added to his sporadic history of scores against the Magpies, the concept of trading out the Carlton captain is sure to be on the minds of a minority of coaches.

However, his following rounds (Suns & Dockers) should look to even the score and move the star onballer back toward the top echelon of selection for you midfield.

Sell

Patrick Dangerfield - $611,900

As of 1pm AEDT on Monday, over 11,000 coaches have already traded out the Cats superstar given his pending lengthy suspension.

Should the explosive midfielder cop three or more weeks, there should be little hesitation in moving Dangerfield on as gameday matchups begin across the next fortnight.

Added to his imminent ban, Dangerfield's dual position status and sub-par Round 1 score are sure to help find more suitable options for your team.

Matt Rowell - $495,100

Footy can be a cruel game. With Matt Rowell set to miss the next couple of months due to a knee injury, there is little reason to hold onto the rising gun.

Currently placed in close to 50% of sides, there is set to be a scramble to fill the void in your midfield and budget for a promising midfielder close to Rowell's price range.

Sam Walsh stands as a great option should you have the cash, Tim Taranto is a great money saver in your midfield and Andrew McGrath (133 points), Bailey Smith (123) and Adam Cerra (122) all put some stellar scores to start their seasons.

Rookie Watch

Debutants had a weekend to enjoy in the opening round of the season, led by Greater Western Sydney ruckman Matt Flynn's 140-point outing against the Saints.

Exciting midfielder Errol Gulden (139 points) closely followed, while Adelaide forward James Rowe (104) was also able to crack the ton.

Demons midfielder James Jordon (78), Swans forward Chad Warner and $200k defender Lachie Young (85) also had strong starts.

Tyler Brockman (22), Miles Bergman (31) and Oliver Henry (9) struggled, while those that fielded Charlie Lazzaro (3) will be hurt by his role as the medical sub.
