The first of the three bye rounds is in the books, and we look towards a bye week that will see players from Brisbane, Collingwood, Geelong, Melbourne, Sydney and West Coast sit for their mid-year break.

With many teams struggling to fill the required 18 scoring players during bye weeks, it's crucial that your trades get put to good use, and trading for players who have just come off the bye should be priority.

Here, we've outlined the best options for your side covering all positions from the group of players coming off the bye.

DEFENDERS

Luke Ryan (FRE) Price $523,100 / Avg: 104.5

The third-year defender is starting to garner some well-earned recognition from football fans, and he has proven capable of being a top six defender this season with three scores over 130 and only one score under 80. A guy that was owned by less than 3% for majority of the season, Ryan is currently ranked first in the league for intercept possessions. The Dockers love the ball in Ryan's hands, and you will too.

James Sicily (HAW) $491.600 / Avg: 99.8ย

The versatile Hawk hasn't been as consistent as season 2019, yet he's still finding plenty of the ball and can get you a decent score. Currently under-priced due to a season low of 75 against Richmond in round 9, but beware of his bad-boy attitude that tends to get him in strife with the MRO - you don't need players missing out if you believe them to be in the top crop of players.

MIDFIELDERSย

Nat Fyfe (FRE) $606,100 / Avg: 120.1

The definition of an 'ultra-premium', Fyfe has posted big numbers his entire career and he looks to be back to his very best. This season he has dipped below triple-figures just once, with a score of 68. From seven of the other 10 matches, Fyfe has delivered scores above 120 and becomes a weekly captain option no matter the opponent.

Marcus Bontempelli (WB) $543,000 / Avg: 112.5

His average of 112.5 is a career-best for the Bulldogs excitement machine, and consistency has been the story of his season. Despite a season-low of 73 against the Eagles, the 'Bont' has looked a terrific selection for those who started with him. Currently owned by 17% of teams, he has an extremely high ceiling as shown by scores of 158 against the Swans and 146 against the Tigers.

Jackson Macrae (WB) $573,900 / Avg: 113.2

Macrae has continued his SuperCoach dominance this season, with scores ranging from a season-low 84 to a season-high 139. Despite not having as much impact as his teammate previously mentioned, Macrae is a gem for SuperCoach lovers due to his ball-winning ability and efficiency. A break even of 153 coming into this weeks match against Carlton, he'll likely see another price drop soon.

FORWARDSย

Josh Dunkley (WB) $556,000 / Avg: 102

In the past five weeks, Josh Dunkley has been on top of his game, relishing his scoring potential with a five-round average of 121.4. He's continued to show his tackling prowess, averaging 5.4 a game. But it's his ability to find the ball of late which has impressed fans. Dunkley is a terrific selection to complete your forward line, and will arguably remain within the top six fowards unless he sees a role change.

Caleb Daniel (WB) $484,700 / Avg: 101.3ย

Despite recording 8 less points than Dunkley across the same amount of games this season, Daniel can be bought for under $500,000 this week. The skillful small has re-imaged his career as a ball-user off half back. Daniel takes majority of the Bulldogs kick-ins, and his overall field kicking has been on full display this season - he is currently averaging 27 disposals per game at 82.6 per cent efficiency.

Michael Walters (FRE) $494,400 / Avg: 99.3

Michael 'Clutch' Walters has been on the winning end of a few game-saving kicks so far this year, but that's not the reason why he should be in your side. As a small forward, Walters works into games by moving up the ground and winning the ball, and his ability to hit the scoreboard regularly helps his scoring. Walters' best games this season have come against two of the competitions best sides in GWS (139) and Collingwood (127).

Travis Boak (PORT) $518,200 / Avg: 111.9

Boak is the number one ranked forward so far this year, the Power have given him more midfield time and he has delivered with some career-best games. The former skipper has had two scores under 95, and isn't in any danger of a role change considering he is within the top five for disposals with 31.9 per game.
