Richmond forward Rhyan Mansell will be on a modified training program after the club revealed he injured his shoulder in the Round 2 clash against Port Adelaide.

Mansell - who is suspended for three matches following a contentious marking contest with St Kilda's Liam O'Connell - re-aggravated the AC joint injury last week, and is given a two-week timeline on his recovery.

The Tiger small forward will already miss clashes with Brisbane, Fremantle and Gold Coast, and will be expected to be available for selection once the ban is lifted in Round 7.

Sam Banks replaced Mansell in the senior side, having successfully worked through concussion protocols.

Emerging midfielder Kane McAuliffe is another who will be sidelined, as the Punt Road club is managing the left-footer, pulling him from tomorrow's VFL clash.

McAuliffe reported foot soreness at the main training session on Wednesday, with Richmond treating the issue cautiously.

High-prized draftee Josh Smillie will make his Tigers debut in the reserves on Saturday after overcoming a hamstring injury throughout the summer.

Speedster Hugo Ralphsmith also returns to action after recovering from his hamstring issue.
