The Swans have confirmed trio Sam Reid, Ben Ronke and Barry O'Connor have signed new one-year deals with the club, while Lewis Taylor has been delisted and will be re-selected via the upcoming Rookie Draft.
Injuries have heavily impacted Reid's career in recent seasons, with the veteran tall playing just the 20 games across the past two years.
The 29-year-old will move into a 13th season with the Swans next year after making his debut in the red and white in 2010.
Ronke made just the two appearances in 2021, with the Swans winning both games against the Giants and Dockers across Rounds 18 and 19.
Irish product O'Connor is yet to play for the Swans at the senior level since moving overseas and joining Sydney as a Category B Rookie in 2019.
Swans football boss Charlie Gardiner stated his excitement to have the trio sign new deals to remain in the Harbour City for a further 12 months.
“Sam’s flexibility to play a variety of roles for us is really valuable. He brings experience and leadership to our younger players and with a better run of luck with injury, we believe he can be an important player for us next season,” Gardiner said.
“Ben is an exciting forward who at his best brings great pressure, speed and hardness. He has had a really challenging run of injuries, but he is only 23-years-old and we are confident that with some continuity in his training, he can make an impact once again at senior level.
“It’s been a whirlwind couple of years for Barry, arriving to the bushfires, having the season postponed in 2021 before enduring another Covid-interrupted season this year. Through all that he has shown great resilience and continued to work hard on his craft. We look forward to seeing how he can further develop his skillset and push for senior selection.”
The club have also stated that the decision to delist Taylor comes as a need to have "flexibility in the upcoming NAB AFL Draft", with the 26-year-old's playing opportunities not being hindered in the list change.
