Sydney's pair of Mid-Season Draft acquisitions, Jack Buller and Harry Arnold have thoroughly impressed during the VFL Swans' narrow victory over Sandringham on Friday.

Buller, who was recruited to the Harbour City as a power forward a matter of days ago, kicked five goals (all by three-quarter-time) and had nine total scoring shots, as well as tacking on 19 possessions, five marks, and four tackles.

Meanwhile, Arnold, a key-position defender, managed 23 disposals and nine marks in a solid showing as the Swans snuck home by four points at Sydney's Tramway Oval.

Arnold was selected sixth, while Buller was taken at No. 15 during May's Mid-Season Draft proceedings.

Other strong Swans performers on the afternoon included AFL-listed midfielder Dylan Stephens, who provided enormous impact, securing 26 possessions and 13 tackles, while Jaiden Magor (24 disposals and 13 marks) was also influential.

For the Zebras, who are affiliated with St Kilda, AFL-listed utility Tom Highmore was among the best afield for either side, scooping up 28 possessions and taking 13 grabs of his own.

The VFL Swans' victory was their first of the 2023 season.
