Sydney have secured two young players for the future, with Oliver Florent and Jordan Dawson signing two-year contract extensions.

The extensions will see Florent remain at the Swans until the end of the 2020 season, while Dawson's new deal will see him stay a Swan until the end of 2019.

Sydney's head of football Tom Harley said the club was excited to re-sign the young pairing.

โ€œWeโ€™re really happy to have both Jordan Dawson and Ollie Florent commit to the Club,โ€ Harley told the club's website.

โ€œJordan played his first game against Collingwood and has been back in the NEAFL since, but heโ€™s really starting to dominate games.

โ€œWe think heโ€™s a fantastic character and exactly the type of person we want to have around the Club โ€“ and heโ€™s developing really nicely as a footballer.

โ€œOliver Florent was obviously our first pick in the draft last year and he has since had a taste of senior football.

โ€œOllie has settled in well โ€“ heโ€™s a Melbourne boy โ€“ so to have your first-round draft pick commit beyond his mandated two-year contract is great.

โ€œTo have young talent like Ollie, Will (Hayward), Darcy (Cameron) and Jordan coming through the ranks and committing to the Swans augers well for the future โ€“ and weโ€™re certainly very excited.โ€

Florent has played six games for the Swans so far this season, while Dawson's one and only appearance came against the Pies in round three.
