The Sydney Swans will be without a pair of key contributors for their clash with arch-rivals the GWS Giants this weekend.

Veteran defender Dane Rampe and running wingman Justin McInerney will both be sidelined for this Saturday's bout due to calf injuries.

Rampe suffered a calf injury during last Saturday's win over Essendon, with scans revealing a low-grade ailment.

Sydney Head of Physiotherapy and Medical Services Damian Raper confirmed Rampe would miss this weekend's derby.

"Scans have confirmed that Dane sustained a low-grade calf injury against Essendon on the weekend," stated Raper on Tuesday via SydneySwans.com.au.

"He won't be available for this weekend's match, and we'll continue to assess his return to play timeline."

As for McInerney, Raper revealed his calf setback will cost him at least the next three matches.

"Scans have also confirmed that Justin suffered a calf injury late in the match against Essendon. He is expected to miss at least the next three weeks," said Raper.

The duo of injuries add to the absence of Lance Franklin, who called time on his career this week after his own calf setback.

The Swans sit just a half-game outside the top-eight, while the sixth-placed Giants are looking for an eight-consecutive win to strengthen their finals seeding.

Sydney's all-important meeting with GWS is fixtured for this Saturday evening at 7:30 PM (AEST) at GIANTS Stadium.
