Sydney may have proven able to deliver an early knockout blow during their 52-point win over Carlton at the SCG on Friday night, however, the Swans' victory song packed extra punch after UFC champion Alex Volkanovski joined the inner circle.

A 26-4 fighter out of Windang, New South Wales, Volkanovski jumped at the chance to help the ladder leaders shake down the thunder post-game.

"It was unreal," the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt told Swans Media in the rooms.

"I've watched them (the Swans) before, but I haven't watched them here. The atmosphere was incredible, and they turned it on, so I'm glad I came."

While more familiar with Sydney's more popular winter code, Rugby League, Volkanovski took time to speak with the surging Swans during the week, even claiming that he had learned a thing or two from the competition's hottest team.

"It was unreal to see the camaraderie," Volkanovski added.

"Even when we were kicking the ball, I felt like I was a part of the team.

"I was able to be backstage when they were going over a bit of tape and things like that. Just watching the whole team talk about it, the coaches ... they were fired up. You can see why they're up there.

"You can see it in the change rooms and, obviously, you can see it out on the field. Very passionate. Very good team."

Volkanovski is sure to hold hope that some of the Swans' good fortune can covert to him in the octogon, with the UFC star falling short in his last pair of fights against Islam Makachev and Ilia Topuria respectively.

In late February this year, Volkanovski claimed that he would "let his head rest" in the wake of the Topuria defeat, but also stressed that his next fight would be for a title.

Sydney's next bout is scheduled for next Thursday night at Marvel Stadium when they travel south to face the Western Bulldogs.
