Sydney forward Jacob Konstanty "doesn't know his future" as he awaits the end of the season to understand where his career sits in the Harbour City.
The teenager is the only first-round selection from the 2022 AFL Draft still without a deal beyond their maiden two-year contract, with the Swans facing a squeeze with the number of available list spots for the 2025 season.
Konstanty is yet to debut at AFL level under John Longmire in his two years with the club and has played 23 games in the VFL for the Swans' reserves. The pressure small forward averaged 11.4 disposals, 4.0 tackles and 2.8 marks per game in the state league this season.
A foot injury, which recently required surgery, has sidelined Konstanty since early July and currently has him required to wear a moon boot.
The frustrating end to his 2024 campaign comes as his deal nears its expiry, with the Swans youngster required to wait until after Sydney's finals series before learning his future.
Konstanty has garnered rival interest given his contract status, with clubs keen on him ahead of the 2022 intake potentially rekindling their hopes of luring the Gippsland Power product.
"We'll sit down with the club after the season. He doesn't know his future at the moment," Konstanty's agent Dave Trotter informed Gettable.
"He might still have a spot at Sydney. It's just that Sydney have a strong list and they don't have a lot of list spots. They want to bring a few players in through the draft and don't have many guys out of contract.
"If it wasn't Sydney... he's got a couple of clubs who really liked him in his draft year."
"He's a great kid, he's super competitive. I'd hope if it wasn't at the Swans, which he hopes it is, he ends up somewhere."
As well as Konstanty, the Swans have Harry Arnold, Jack Buller, Aaron Francis, Tom Hanily, Jaiden Magor, Lachlan McAndrew, Caleb Mitchell and Cooper Vickery currently without deals for the 2025 season.
The club has enjoyed a strong year with retaining star players, having Oliver Florent (2029), Errol Gulden (2028), Will Hayward (2029), Logan McDonald (2028) and James Rowbottom (2028), among others, sign new deals.
The Swans' season will conclude in the next fortnight, with a home preliminary final against Port Adelaide on Friday potentially seeing the NSW club secure a spot in this year's season decider.
