Sydney could go another week without star pair Chad Warner and Tom Papley, with the latter unlikely to be seen again until September.
Papley hasn't played since Round 19 due to an ankle injury - an ailment that is expected to see him miss the club's season-ending matchup with Adelaide next weekend.
The All-Australian small forward could miss a total of six weeks, with the AFL's pre-finals bye to fall between the Swans' Crows clash and their opening finals affair.
Sydney won't look to rush Papely back for Round 24 in the hope of getting minutes into his legs before September, while Warner could return from a calf issue that saw him miss Friday's win over Essendon.
With the minor premiership all but clinched with that victory, Sydney won't look to rus both Warner and Papley back from injury.
Speaking after the win over the Bombers, coach John Longmire provided an update on the duo's status heading toward September.
"'Paps' would be a long stretch to play next week," the Swans coach said.
"He'd have to have everything go right for him, no whatever what kind of game it was.
"Chad will play if he's fit. You've got to be mindful that if you miss this week and next week then there's a bye.
"But we won't take any risks with any of our players, but we still want to make sure that if they're right and they're fit and able to play they play.
"History suggests that's the best way to do it. If they're injured or sore they don't play, but if they're ready to go they come out and play. It's important for the team and it's important for them."
Papley's eventual return to the side will force Longmire to assess how his forward third takes shape, with veteran Luke Parker holding down a key role in attack in the small forward's absence.
Parker has played half of his games as the tactical sub since returning from injury and suspension in Round 18, with starting roles proving fruitful - made evident with last week's two-goal outing against Collingwood.
Longmire said his former captain has done whatever has been asked of him since returning to the side, with the Swans coach expressing his delight with Parker's "outstanding" work on and off the field.
"He's played well the last couple of weeks, he's been terrific," Longmire said.
"I've just liked the way he's used his forward craft. He's done a good job at that and he's also been good in the midfield when we've needed him.
"He's done a great job the last couple of weeks, which is fantastic. He's showed his real leadership, he's supported [Callum Mills] in a really strong way, which is outstanding.
"He's played a really good role for us the last couple of weeks."
Sydney will return to the SCG for Round 24 to face Adelaide, with a wide range of opponents in line to take on the Swans in the opening week of finals.
