Former Sydney Swans captain Josh Kennedy is the latest former AFL player to commit to The Carlton Draft.

The Carlton Draft presents the opportunity for six local clubs to have the chance to draft a former legend of the game to play as a part of their team in 2023.

Kennedy boasts a highly decorated 290-game career, having been selected as an All-Australian three times, playing in Sydney's 2012 premiership and leading the Swans from 2017-2021.

Kennedy said he was excited about what he can bring to the local level through The Carlton Draft.

"I am looking forward to heading out to a local Victorian town, offering as much as I can and see what it is all about," he said.

Other former players who will take part so far are Nathan Buckley, Jordan Lewis, Bernie Vince and Kane Cornes.

Kennedy joked he should be pretty high up in the draft order given he only retired at the end of last season.

"I would be disappointed if I fall down the order, I only retired at the end of last season so I should be in and around the top three," he said.
