Sydney utility Braeden Campbell has signed a three-year contract extension to remain a Swan until at least the end of 2028.

The Swans Academy graduate played 23 games in 2024, including all three Sydney finals, albeit he was the starting substitute in the qualifying final and the grand final.

The former Pick 5 averaged 10.4 disposals and 2.4 tackles per game mainly across the wing, but the versatile 22-year-old also played a multitude of positions throughout matches last season.

Campbell regarded his decision as "an easy one" having supported Sydney as a child and being supported through the academy system.

Sydney general manager Leon Cameron said Campbell's contract extension was a reward for his efforts since joining the club through the 2020 draft.

โ€œBraeden is a very popular member of the playing group and it's great to see him rewarded for his hard work,โ€ Cameron said.

โ€œWe feel he has improved year on year since he began his AFL career, and as we saw in the finals series last year, had a real impact playing on a wing and forward with his pace and kicking ability.

โ€œI'm looking forward to seeing him cement himself in the 22 as we feel he has a very bright future here.โ€

With Campbell's signing, the Swans have ticked off a trio of midfielders' contracts, with Errol Gulden and James Rowbottom also re-signing long-term in 2024.

Attention now turns to star Swan Chad Warner, whose future in Sydney is clouded after a home purchase in his home state of Western Australia was reported this month, fuelling rumours of a blockbuster trade to play at either Fremantle or West Coast.
