Sydney has ruled out Darcy Cameron for the round one game against Port Adelaide this weekend.
Football manager Tom Harley said the young ruckman's lacerated finger, which he suffered during training last week, became infected during a NEAFL trial game on the weekend.
"Unfortunately for Darcy his finger got infected. He's OK he just needed to flush that out and make sure he cleared it of all the bugs", Harley told the Swans website.
"He lacerated his finger last week at training and then we had a game against Sydney Uni in the NEAFL out at Blacktown in pretty treacherous conditions."
"He's unavailable for selection this week, (but) he's had a massive pre-season so we don't see any long-term effects for Darcy."
Harley also confirmed former co-captain Jarrad McVeigh is on track for a round four return as he recovers from a calf strain.
