David Teague has said that he believes the Carlton Football Club could have offered him more support in the wake of the independent review and endless speculation about his job.

Teague has been labelled a "dead-man walking" by some media, with Carlton's season falling off a cliff in recent weeks after losses to North Melbourne and Gold Coast.

The embattled Carlton coach said that he believes the club could've perhaps done more to support him in the wake of the rumours and speculation about his job in recent weeks.

"I understand the review process & not the commentary. At times there has been some media & journalism thatโ€™s just not true," Teague said

"Would I have loved for some people at the club from within the club to have come out and backed me up? Absolutely, Iโ€™m not going to lie.

"I love this footy club, so don't get me wrong I understand the why."

Teague also claimed that those behind the review would acknowledge that they hadn't handle the review perfectly.

"Have we nailed the process? I don't think so," Teague claimed.

"I think that's clear. I think everyone would put their hand up to that."

The Blues have released the findings of the review to the board but Teague said he was yet to see the findings ahead of Carlton's final game of the season.

Teague said that the time will come for him to see the findings of the external review but for now his focus was on this weeks clash with GWS.

"I haven't been given the findings yet," said Teague.

"At this stage I think it's just onto the board and maybe the CEO as well. I think they're deliberating on those findings right now and making sense of them and from there some decisions will be made. I look forward to those findings."

Plenty of names have been mentioned as possible candidates should Teague be moved on at the end of the season. But none have been mentioned as Alistair Clarkson and Ross Lyon.

The latter spoke onย Footy Classifiedย last night where he was quizzed by Caroline Wilson about whether he would be keen for the job should it be available.

Lyon said it is a call he would definitely take.

"Yes, certainly take the call & consider it," said Lyon.

"I'm aware, thereโ€™s enough Carlton people, famous Carlton people, premiership players, coaches, ex-champions that are advocating in a sense because theyโ€™ve worked with me or know me personally & understand their club.

"But I also understand that I havenโ€™t got tickets on myself, itโ€™s a red-hot field Alastair Clarkson's available.

"What I'll say Caroline you were spot on with Alastair the whole way. As part of that you were saying.. that Alastair would coach the Carlton Football Club.

"If I was the Carlton board & I could get Alastair Clarkson you can't go past that. If the measure's premierships there's no decision is there? If you get a headhunter ring & go & meet them & go for the job, if you havenโ€™t got that chemistry that happens pretty quick."

Teague was asked in his weekly media conference about his thoughts on the running commentary around his job and potential suitors making comments on a job that is currently his.

"I'm contracted for 2022 so I'm planning for that," Teague stated.

"I still believe I'm the person to go forwards so unless he knows something that I don't know, I'm going to continue to plan to be the coach next year."
