BACKLINE

Rory Laird

Despite the loss, Rory Laird was influential in keeping the Crows in the match - dominating all over the ground.

Laird ended the match with 36 possessions, 80% efficiency, six marks, five marks, and 10 clearances.

Harris Andrews

The ever-reliable Andrews was again dominant in defense, amassing 17 disposals, nine intercepts, and five contested marks.

He also had a perfect 100% disposal efficiency, making the opposition pay every time they turned it over. Andrews outsmarted and overpowered the young Suns outfit showing why he is one of the league's best backmen.

Nick Hind

Making the Saints once again regret their decision to trade him away, Hind was prolific down back and remained consistent throughout the close match.

Nick had 31 touches, eight marks, six intercepts, and five inside 50s showcasing an ability to turn defense into offense.

Tom McCartin

While a stat line of 13 disposals, eight marks and six intercepts doesn't scream off the page, his impact on the match did.

McCartin kept Brody Mihocek goalless and to no marks, nullifying the big forward's impact on the game.

Grant Birchall

Birchall was back to his scintillating best dominating the Gold Coast Suns throughout the entire match.

He finished the match with 26 disposals, 13 marks and 6 score involvements not only stopping his opponents but for using his lethal left foot to damage the other way.

Liam Baker

In a career-best performance, Liam Baker stared against the Giants making up for the multitude of injuries the club are suffering.

With a career-high 33 touches, 19 kicks and eight clearances performances like this might make a few injured tigers worried about their return.

CENTRE

Cameron Guthrie

Cameron Guthrie deserves a lot of credit for Geelong's win on Friday. On his current form, it is looking like a consecutive Best and Fairest for the Geelong Midfielder.

Had 36 touches, six marks, seven tackles to go along with six score involvements, and 11 contested possessions. He also has accumulated the most Fantasy points over the past three rounds.

Clayton Oliver

Clayton Oliver put together another incredible performance bringing consistent pressure and toughness to the Melbourne midfield. The midfield of Melbourne has been destroying the competition all year, and Oliver is one of the driving forces.

He ended the match with 28 touches, 10 tackles, seven clearances and 1.2 on the scoreboard.

Callum Mills

Callum Mills has finally been allowed to play full-time midfield and he is making the most of that opportunity. Playing at an elite level all season, Mills is quickly becoming the Swan's best and fairest fancy.

He finished the match with 28 disposals, six inside 50s, seven score involvements, and seven tackles. His elevation of play is one of contributing factors to Sydney's 2021 finals push.

FORWARD LINE

Dayne Zorko

Dayne Zorko had a field day against the Suns filling out the stat sheet with 34 touches, nine marks, and seven clearances.

His possessions proved important in leading to Brisbane scores too having 14 score involvements and eight inside 50s giving forwards plenty of opportunities.

Aaron Naughton

Naughton made a big impact on the scoreboard kicking four goals and proving to be too strong and agile for any Port Adelaide defender.

The Astro-naught also finished with five marks and nine contested possessions showcasing dominance in the air and at ground level. He also took this hanger midway through the third quarter.

Marcus Bontempelli

The Bont stared once again showcasing his ability to rack up disposals in the middle and kick goals while resting up forward.

Bontempelli ended with 26 touches, seven inside 50s, and two goals and has to be considered one of/if not the best players in the game.

Cam Zurhaar

Zurhaar was one of the major x-factors in the Kangaroo's first win of the season. Booting four majors throughout the match, these included critical goals on either side of three-quarter time.

His match-winning ability was on display for all the supporters in Tasmania, giving Roos fans something to look forward to in the upcoming years.

Jack Darling

five goals in one quarter says it all. Jack Darling was electric in the second quarter kicking five majors and proving to be the difference between the two sides.

Never conventional, Darling showed why he is an exciting player to watch. While his coach might not agree, Darling's nutmeg goal was entertaining to watch.

Dustin Martin

What more is there to say about Dusty? four goals, 28 touches and nine score involvements. He is an absolute gun.

Martin showed us again that he is still a match-winner, and is still the only player who can win a match off his own boot. His ability to make something out of nothing is one of the many reasons Richmond can win their third flag in a row.

FOLLOWERS

Todd Goldstein

Goldstein dominated again in the ruck giving his mids plenty of first looks. This resulted in three Kangaroo players amassing 10 clearances.

He ended the match with 28 hitouts, 19 disposals, and five inside 50s. He gave first use to his teammates leading to the Roos's first win of the season.

Jy Simpkin

Jy Simpkin was another key member of the Kangaroos midfield dominance. Working in tandem with Ben Cunnington, Simpkin smashed the Hawks in the middle giving his forwards plenty of looks.

Simpkin ended up with 38 touches, nine tackles, 14 clearances, and five inside 50s. He provided a dynamic one-two punch feeding off the rucking dominance of Goldstein.

Darcy Parish

Darcy Parish is having some sort of season and continues to string together impressive performances.

Parish was sensational throughout the match amassing 39 touches, 10 clearances, nine score involvements. Parish also bulldozed through the opposition having 18 contested possessions.

INTERCHANGE

Jarryd Lyons

Here is another instance of Lyons making the Suns question their decision to delist Jarryd in 2018. It was another standout game for Lyons who came away with the Marcus Ashcroft Medal.

Finishing with 37 possessions, nine marks, nine clearances and seven score involvements, Lyons was unlucky to make the starting team. Most other weeks he would have made the starters, but it was a strong week for Followers.

Ben Cunnington

The Dairy farmer from country Victoria was at his intimidating best completing the midfield destruction of the Hawthorn. While just missing the starting squad, take nothing away from Cunnington's performance.

With 37 touches, 14 clearances 23 contested possessions, Cunnington provided grunt and toughness. This 'Shinboner Spirit 'helped the Kangaroos grind out their first win.

Tom Hickey

While versing Brodie Grundy can be a daunting task for any ruckman, Tom Hickey isn't just 'any ruckman'. The journeyman continues on his stellar season taking the honours in the battle of the rucks.

Finishing with 18 hit-outs, 19 touches and eight clearances, Hickey is providing good use for his Sydney teammates. Hickey is sure to have played himself into a contract extension for 2022 and beyond.

Christian Salem

Having a significant impact on the Melbourne defense, providing the spark and flair off the half-back. He has also been having a career-best year, looking like a real threat to make the All Australian Squad by the end of 2021.

Leading all Melbourne players with 29 disposals, Salem capped off the game with five intercepts and five score involvements.
