Former Western Bulldogs and Richmond coach Terry Wallace has suggested Collingwood will make the the top eight this season.

The Pies sit 14th with a 1-2 record, but Wallace professes that if the Pies recent injury fortunes turnaround, their friendly fixture could put them into finals calculations.

โ€œI know Iโ€™m sitting on the fence here, but I would have one of the Western Bulldogs, Collingwood or Geelong filling the eighth spot,โ€ Wallace toldย SEN Afternoons.

โ€œOnly one of the three and I will go Collingwood.

โ€œI think if they can stop getting hamstring injuries, they could still get around that mark.

โ€œI do say that (the Pies) have a very, very kind draw.โ€

Wallace predicted that Collingwood would finish 10th before the season, but now has them narrowly ahead of the similarly placed Geelong.

โ€œGeelong Iโ€™m worried about, I had them at five (in the pre-season), obviously theyโ€™re fairly banged up at the moment,โ€ the former Bulldogs coach said.

โ€œIโ€™m very worried about the Cats.โ€
