It's no secret that the Blues have let some good players go in recent times.

Yes, Carlton have recruited several quality youngsters in the last few years and are headed in the right direction. But they have also been guilty of carrying too many list cloggers with little potential and allowing their more talented names to walk.

While some of these stars wanted out, that can't be used as an excuse, and a better list transition could have taken the Blues anywhere.

Here are the best 10 players Carlton have traded or delisted since 2006:

3. Bryce Gibbs

Gibbs requested a trade back to Adelaide at the end of 2016 but wasn't granted his wish until the end of 2017. You could argue that the Blues won this trade, given that they bagged two first-round picks in return and because Gibbs just turned 30.

However, ask any Blues fan and they would take Gibbs back in a heartbeat. Plusย he would have been a great role model and mentor for guys like Sam Walsh, Sam Petrevski-Seton, Zac Fisher and Paddy Dow.

  1. Lmfao at Gibbs, can’t get a game for the crows and we got 2 1st round picks for him. Carlton won letting half of those dead beats go, especially Gibbs.

  2. Josh kennedy.

Mate you are a hack journalist.

Garlett and Robbo were poorly behaved and during a cultural change not great going forward.

    Waite was due to retire.
Gibbs and Hendo wanted out so you have to respect that.

    Tuohy… who knows…. bit of a wanker.

Jacobs was a tough call. Kreuz was top ruck. But we had 3 others. Jacobs was a strange choice to go.

Betts hurts. That was the hardest.

But kennedy. Mate at the time we had this bloke brendan. Waite was a bit part.

    Kennedy was noone.

Yes we know how good he is. But at the time it was very very good exchange. Juddy is still pure carlton.

    Hindsight is 20:20.

Perhaps next time talk about building a culture. Thats what Juddy is part of doing.
