The AFL is flooded with exciting, young talent in 2020 as players in their first few seasons of the league already steer the ship for their respective clubs.

The league's 22under22 squad was released this week, reigniting the debate of which young gun is the hottest property across all 18 clubs.

6. Jacob Weitering

The future captain of Carlton. The former No.1 selection has found his groove in 2020 and has fallen into the All-Australian calculations.

A clean key defender with raw talent and a great football brain, Weitering is bringing back a build that seemed extinct in the AFL.

The 22-year-old isn't one to hide in the back-pocket, regularly taking the oppositions best forward and limiting their impact for all four quarters.
