Does the mantle of best young player come under threat if Ashcroft wins the flag? Nick Daicos has clearly set the benchmark, but Ashcroft would have a flag to his name in 30 games and without even a full season played.

The 2022 No.2 pick was the driving force behind Brisbane's historic semi-final comeback, demanding the ball in his hands as the Lions clawed back a 44-point deficit.

His efforts in this game won't be forgotten if the Lions go on to win it, and his career would be off to an ideal start ahead of brother Levi joining.
