Who has the most to gain from winning the flag this year?

Everyone who receives that elusive premiership medallion gets to relish in one of the greatest achievements of their life, but the legacy boost means more to a particular few.

Some have toiled away at their club for years on end, racking up accolades upon accolades without the ultimate glory.

For other it's a numbers game; adding a second, third or fourth flag to take their career legacy to new heights.

The storylines are endless among the four teams remaining, players and coaches everywhere with statements to make and reputations to build.

We look at 10 names on this list with the most to gain from winning the AFL premiership in two weeks' time, counting down to an obvious number one, but starting with...

5. Patrick Dangerfield

Like Scott, there was not much left for 'Danger' to prove after the 2022 flag, but adding 'premiership captain' to the playing resume would be a fitting achievement for one of the game's greatest.

He won't reach the heights of Dusty's three Norm Smith Medals, but the body of work with a flag, eight All-Australian seasons and another triumphant campaign in 2024 would have many inking Dangerfield's name onto the Mt. Rushmore of 21st century players, especially if he could snag a Norm Smith to boot.

He has been managed perfectly this season, allowing an ideal runway into September, and he looms ominously for opposing midfield brigades when he is this hungry and fresh.
