The game of Aussie Rules is filled with ecstasy and agony both on the field and off it, testing the emotional strength of its fans.

Collectively we have compiled a list - in no particular order - of the most passionate, heart-breaking and compelling moments in the AFL from the last 10 seasons.

8. Majak Daw's miraculous return

Scenes of joy were seen this year with North Melbourne player Majak Daw playing his first game since 2018 after an incident at the Bolte Bridge due to a battle with mental health.

Now however, it is a story that people can look back on and smile about how far Daw has come and the constant support shown by family, the club and fans in those 20 months off.

โ€œFor me to be able to work back to playing AFL footy, hopefully that gives people hope that they can get back to doing things they once loved," Daw told the media in August this year.
