We have already had our 2021 All-Australian team predicted, and now we have shifted our gaze to the names that could find themselves being tailored for a gaudy jacket by season's end.
Some of this group have lengthy resumes and can count themselves rigor mortis stiff not to have already cracked a nomination for the national side. Whilst others are budding stars, set to once again put their best feet forward.
From the dubious to the near on locks, here are the 10 players that appear best placed to end 2021 with their first All-Australian selection.
As always, let us know who we have missed.
7. Jacob Weitering
After a 2020 season that saw the former number one pick claim his first club B&F, Carlton fans were livid that Jacob Weitering was snubbed from the AA side.
With averages of 11.05 disposals, 4.35 marks, 3.7 rebound 50s and a reputation for keeping some of the league's best spearheads quiet, it isn't hard to see why.
Jacob Weitering had eight one-on-one contests with Tom Lynch tonight and only lost one. Kept him to nine disposals, no marks and no goals. Hell of an effort. #AFLTigersBlues

Like Taranto, Weitering has perennially been selected in the 22under22 team, with the Blues' defender named as captain last year.
If his miserly ways become consolidated in 2021, there is every chance that Weitering will jump from the 40-man squad into this year's 22.
