The 2021 trade period has officially wrapped up with the last few free agent signings being finalized. The 10-day period saw plenty of players find new clubs including some shock last minute trades!

The clubs will now have a better idea of what they're looking for going into the 2021 AFLW National Draft which takes place July 27, 2021.

Chloe Scheer (Adelaide to Geelong)

Adelaide's Chloe Scheer has been traded to Geelong for selection 20 in the upcoming 2021 AFLW draft. The 21 year old is considered as some of the competitions best young talent averaging 11 possessions and kicking five goals in 2021.

Scheer is a great get for Geelong as she can be damaging in the midfield and in the forward line.

Katie Loynes (Carlton to GWS)

Carlton's Katie Loynes has been traded to GWS in a deal involving Chloe Dalton. Carlton received Jess Dal Pos, selections 10 and 27.

After captaining Carlton for the past two seasons Loynes brings leadership and composure under pressure. Sheis a tough ball winner averaging 11 disposals in 2021, and brings the grit and determination that is a valued quality at AFLW level.

Sabrina Frederick (Richmond to Collingwood)

Sabrina Frederick has found her way to her third club after being traded from Richmond to Collingwood. Collingwood has gained Frederick as well as selections 26 and 55 in exchange for Maddie Shevlin, pick 16 and pick 48.

Sabrina struggled to show her full impact in her two years at Tigerland kicking just two goals in 2021. However the pies were in need of a tall target in their forward line.

Sabrina is 24 years of age and will work alongside the competitions best in Chloe Molloy and Best and fairest winner Brianna Davey.

Chloe Dalton (Carlton to GWS)

Chloe Dalton was traded from Carlton to GWS in the same deal as Katie Loynes. Dalton is best know for her run and dash providing great ball movement which is a rare talent in the AFLW.

Dalton is an Olympic champion in rugby sevens and she has proved her athletic ability is top class. However, with it being an Olympic year the circumstances around her availability may change before the start of the season.

Vivien Saad (North Melbourne to Gold Coast)

North Melbourne traded Vivien Saad and pick 30 to the Gold Coast Suns for selection 19. Saad spent two seasons with North and played all but one home and away game last season averaging nine disposals.

Saad stands at 180 cm tall and has the ability to step into a ruck role or slot into the forward line.

Olivia Purcell (Geelong to Melbourne)

Geelong's Liv Purcell and selection 37 has been traded to Melbourne in exchange for Chantel Emonson and pick 15. Purcell is a club best and fairest winner for Geelong averaging 15 disposals in season 2021 before rupturing her ACL in round five of 2021.

At 20 years of age she promises a bright career ahead at Melbourne following her recovery.

Maddie Shevlin (Collingwood to Richmond)

Shevlin was traded from Collingwood to Richmond as a part of the Frederick deal. She has managed just 13 games across four seasons in the competition and has been plagued win injury.

Shevlin averaged eight disposals in 2021 across just three games and brings height and youth to the growing Richmond defence currently lead by Harriet Cordner.

Tayla Harris (Carlton to Melbourne)

The most spoken about player in the lead up to the trade period, Harris has been traded from Carlton to Melbourne along with and selection 44 in exchange for pick 32.

Harris has proved herself to be damaging in the air and around the goals. She brings great physicality to the game.

However, coming off one of her worst seasons so far, Tayla's salary requests surprised many. In previous seasons she has averaged up to eight goals per season and four marks a game.

Melbourne will find Harris' height an advantage following key forwards Tegan Cunningham's retirement.

Elle Bennetts (GWS to Western Bulldogs)

The Giant's Elle Bennetts has been traded to the Bulldogs and in return will receive pick 28. Bennetts will bring experience to a young Dogs side having played four seasons with the Giants and averaging 15 disposals in 2021.

Bennetts has the ability to push forward into the midfield but can also sit back in defence.

Jess Hosking (Carlton to Richmond)

Carlton has traded Jess Hosking as well as picks 55 and 57 to Richmond in exchange for selections 23 and 40.

Hosking made her way to Tigerland, to reunite with twin Sarah, in the dying stages of the trade period. Hosking was hindered by injuries, causing her to miss the inaugural AFLW season but has since established herself as one of Blues most reliable players.

Hosking averaged 13 disposals in 2021 and will add experience and depth to Richmond's midfield.

Jess Dal Pos (GWS to Carlton)

The Giant's have traded Jess Dal Pos to Carlton in the deal involving Loynes and Dalton. Dal Pos is a handy addition to the Blues as she brings the pressure component of the game to the forward line.

She will work alongside Darcy Vescio and Georgia Gee who are both also highly skilled around the goals.

Alison Downie (Delisted free agent)

Collingwood have picked up Alison Downie as a delisted free agent. Downie is a former WNBL player and her height and agility is a major asset of her game.

Following Sharni Norder's retirement, Downie has the capability to pick up the number one ruck position at Collingwood.

After five seasons with Carlton, Downie has a great experience at the top level averaging five disposals a game.
