As the deadline (October 31) for list lodgements looms, clubs are still working through which players will be inside the four walls in 2025.
With most players locked away for next year, there are still 17 talents that have yet to confirm their futures, albeit most will remain put.
Leading the cohort is Geelong champion Patrick Dangerfield, who is expected to re-sign on a two-year deal.
Those who aren't offered contracts for 2025 could be re-selected through the delisted free agency period - which begins November 1st - or as a pre-season supplemental selection.
Below is the state of play for those STILL without a deal...

Lachie Sullivan - Understood to have penned a one-year extension but has yet to be confirmed by the club.

Charlie Dean - Exposed at the top level in 2024 but struggled to meet expectations. Could be kept around to bolster the defensive depth that is a key area the Pies will focus on strengthening.
Ned Long - Taken as a pre-season pick and impressed when given the opportunity. Does add midfield depth but given the inclusion of Harry Perryman and Dan Houston, could be shown the door.
Reef McInnes - A young talent that's struggled to get senior opportunities. Was swung down back in a bid to prolong his career but would be a watch for rival clubs as a delisted free agent.

Patrick Dangerfield - Was never leaving the Cats despite reported interest from Adelaide. He is the last restricted free agent to not re-sign but will in the coming days.
Patrick Dangerfieldโs two-year extension will be ticked off as soon as the next few days.
The club and player were in no rush. Just the finer details remaining before making it official. @FootyonNine @traderadio @9NewsMelb

Mitch Duncan - Like Dangerfield, the old Cat is likely to stay given his leadership and skillset.
Rhys Stanley - Geelong will keep Stanley on their books given their lack of depth in the ruck department. Nearing the end of his career so another 12 months is the likely play.
Gold Coast

Hawthorn
Joshua Bennetts - Is deemed as an exciting prospect that hasn't made the leap to the senior level. Bennetts was signed as a Category B Rookie through the club's NGA and could reprise his position in the club.
Melbourne
Joel Smith - Is currently under investigation for allegedly trafficking a banned substance. Was set to come out of his playing contract at the end of 2024.

St Kilda
Jack Hayes - Had interest from the Pies who went down the path of securing teammate Tim Membrey. Has had a wretched run of injuries as the Saints weigh up whether he is durable.
Olli Hotton - An impressive prospect, Hotton hasn't been able to debut and featured prominently in the VFL side. A handy midfielder, could receive an extension following many departures.
Ben Paton - Met with the Giants and will be of interest to rivals if shown the door by St Kilda. A bargain pick-up for a club who needs a lockdown defender.
Sydneyย
Aaron Francis - An un-active trade period could see Francis remain at the club as a depth option in defence. Played five games in 2024 and was serviceable when used.
West Coast
Luke Edwards - Played 12 games in 2024 but the club added three experienced campaigners and will look to bring in more talent at the draft. But survived two rounds of delistings.
