Both Collingwood and West Coast will need to fill significant holes in their front thirds when they go head-to-head this weekend, with some of the competition's best one-on-one forwards set to miss the match through injury.

In-form Eagles forward Jake Waterman won't make the trip to Marvel Stadium on Sunday due to a concussion, while his Collingwood counterpart, Brody Mihocek, will come out of the Magpies' lineup due to a hamstring injury.

Waterman and Mihocek are tied fourth in the AFL for offensive one-on-one contest wins in 2024, with both players managing a winning outcome in eight of their 15 contests for a rating of 53.3%.

Both players contest close to two offensive one-on-one contests per game, which is less than respective teammates Jack Darling and Mason Cox but both manage a better return rate per contest.

GWS will also lose a key contributor to their attacking plans over the next three weeks with Callum Brown suspended for his side's upcoming matches against GWS, the Western Bulldogs and Geelong.

Brown has the second-best offensive one-on-one win rating in the competition among those who have completed in at least 10 of those contests, with the Irishman winning six of his 11 direct matchups for a return of 54.5%.

Only teammate Jesse Hogan has a better rating in the competition with 55.6%, having won 10 of his 18 offensive one-on-one contests.

Port Adelaide's Charlie Dixon has been part of the most offensive one-on-one contests this year with 42 from his seven games, averaging six per appearance with a return of 35.7% - the 13th-best in the AFL.

Coleman Medal leader Charlie Curnow is the next highest with 35 contests attended, with the Carlton star managing a win rating of 40.0% to rank among the top 10.

Geelong small forward Tyson Stengle (53.8%), Melbourne ace Bayley Fritsch (50.0%) and Curnow's partner in crime, Harry McKay (47.6%) also rank among the best one-on-one forwards.
