We run the rule over some last minute Supercoach gems, plus those you should think about offloading.

Sick of the same Supercoach sites telling you get on board with the same handful of players? Well The Bandwagon takes a look at the unique players that could make an impact, and the popular ones that could face the boot, as you look to get the wheels rolling for Supercoach 2015. Whether you need to take a punt in your league, or are looking for overall glory, don’t take a page out of the same book, jump on board the new Bandwagon.

Jump On:

Mitch Wallis (Western Bulldogs - $379,700, avg: 89.83)

Wallis is starting to hit his straps and had a great week last week for a return of 153. He is a bargain at just $379 given his potential. Might be a risk given his scores weren’t that high early on in the season, but he rose $39,000 this week, so if you want to take the gamble, it’s best to do so sooner rather than later. He has averaged 105 the past three weeks and is only in 2.1% of teams.

Josh Kennedy (West Coast - $504,400, avg: 106.56)

Kennedy is in great form, leading the Coleman medal and getting heaps of the footy each week. He is in only 4.3% of teams, so if you want a high scoring forward to get an advantage over your rivals, he is your man. The delivery from the Eagles midfield has been great recently, which guarantees Kennedy plenty of marks. Has averaged 115.33 the past three weeks and his price is starting to rise so get on him quickly.

Abandon ship:

Joel Selwood (Geelong – $495,300, avg: 95.78)

Yes, you read that correctly, Joel Selwood. The Cats superstar and long-time Supercoach favourite seems to be suffering due to the extra pressure during games, given he has less experience in the midfield around him than he is accustomed to. Selwood averaged a career best 121 points per game last season, but so far this year he is averaging only 95 points per game, his lowest since his debut year. He has also only averaged 89 points over the last five weeks. Selwood has only scored over 110 points once this season and his price has dropped $154,000 since the beginning of the season, the third biggest price drop of any player this year. What’s hurting Selwood at the moment is his kicking efficiency, which sits at just 56%. With Geelong looking likely to be a mid-table side this season, and the heavy tagging set to continue, it might be time to trade the Cats skipper if you haven’t already.
