As the first month of fixtures drew to a close last Sunday evening, a belief morphed into empirical truth - 2021 is already rivalling last year in terms of unpredictability.

With the second month of the marathon season set to commence tonight, another set of questions remain ahead of both the men in the hot seat and their disciples in studded boots.

Whether flying high or having to continually dig deep for no reward, here are the latest set of quandaries facing each of the AFL's 18 teams.

Sydney

Is the thunder shaking likely to continue for much longer?

Like Adelaide, I am almost certain that none of you had Sydney sitting in the top four after a month.

Again, like the Crows, we are now all wondering just how much longer their form will last.

With the Swans only set to face two teams currently in the eight โ€“ Melbourne and Carlton โ€“ before their bye in Round 14, if their contemporary form continues, they are almost certain to still be contending for a place at the tip of the table.

Still, with a young side that has just begun to be hit with injuries, sustaining their early pace across the marathon season will prove a challenge.

However, at the minute, there is absolutely nothing I can fault John Longmire and his list on. So, until any potential trough arises, I can only pay praise as they continue marching onwards to victory, the noble banners remain sky high and the thunder keeps raining from the sky.
