As both the players and their coaches continue their strides in season 2021, distinctive groups have broken out throughout the race.
Some, like the Bulldogs and Demons, have dashed from the starter's gun, with the desire to create lightyears between themselves and the pack.
Sadly for others, they are barely attached to the peloton anymore.
Whether first, second, third or 18th along the road to the last Saturday in September, every side and their side coaching team still have question marks over their head.
Hawthorn
When is the dam wall going to break?
Some truths in football are far more concrete than others.
On one hand, it is a fact that Hawthorn have not won a game of football in a month. Whilst on the other, a strong case can be made for the fact that they have not been dismal - despite an average losing margin of four goals.
Across their last 16 quarters of play, Alastair Clarkson's side may have ultimately forgotten what chocolates taste like, but they have managed to win โ or at least breakeven โ in a period a week against the likes of Richmond, Geelong, Fremantle, and Melbourne.
It is these spurts of productivity that have whet the appetites of patient Hawthorn fans, but for those less forgiving and those raised on September smorgasbords, a victory when the final siren sounds is all that is craved.
With the Mayblooms back in the familiar territory of the Apple Isle for the first time since July of 2019, if they can find a way to thatch these periods into patch work quilt against Adelaide, then their fans โ patient or otherwise โ could be toasting success.

If not, clashes against St. Kilda, North Melbourne, Carlton and Gold Coast before the end of May provide them with many more chances to click their needles and sew up their season's second win.
