With six weeks of the marathon run, the line between contenders and pretenders is becoming much more opaque.
Although 94.4% of the competition's 18-teams have now put a win on the board, the gap between first and last is still chasmic.
As we edged toward the end of the season's second month, the question marks surrounding every side โ whether they are leading the league or languishing โ are still aplenty.
With Round 7 set to start this Friday night, we have cast an eye across each of the league's combatants and have sought to answer the key questions facing each and every one of them.

Will Caleb Poulter actually line up on a wing?
After beating Nathan Buckley at the free throw line during the week, South Australian rookie Caleb Poulter earnt the right to become Collingwood's fifth debutant this season.
Following his 'nothing but net' effort from the charity stripe, the mulleted midfielder was praised by Buckley for both his ability to play a role in the reserves side, as well as the teenager's ability on a wing.

Still, with the Magpies' propensity for playing young midfielders forward of the ball early in their careers, the question remains, will Poulter actually play on a wing or will he join the previous litany of youngsters with a place inside 50?
The 18-year-old's numbers for both the club's seconds team this year, and in the SANFL colts competition in 2020, have been more than impressive, with Poulter claiming 27 touches last week and an average of more than 24 last year.
Due to the fact he is a noted goalkicker โ having averaged more than a major a game in his time with Woodville West-Torrens' under-18s team โ if Buckley is keen to scratch a familiar itch, Poulter's 193 centimetres and dual position versatility could provide the Pies with another avenue to goal.

Still, if public messaging suggests that Poulter will play on either of the MCG's vast wings, expect him to line up there initially and only be deployed forward if scoring ceases.
That would make sense.
Right?
