The rumour mill has gone into overdrive following claims from veteran journalist Caroline Wilson that an AFL "comeback is on the cards" for retired Richmond champion Alex Rance.
With someone as full a resume as Rance has, the five-time All Australia would certainly be in demand should his services become available.
If Rance did indeed decide to return to the AFL, we've counted down the five most realistic landing spots.

5. St Kilda
The Saints have made their name in recent seasons by providing a fresh start for players.ย So why not throw the kitchen sink at Rance as their next ideal target?
St Kilda have been arguably the biggest improver in the 2020 season with their mix of youth and veterans blending together to play some excellent football. Despite this, their defence is easily their weakest area of the ground.
New recruit Dougal Howard is a good foundation piece but high-priced Jake Carlisle is almost 29, off-contract and his best days are now behind him. Callum Wilkie is a solid find in the rookie draft but does not loom as a key piece for a flag contender.
With St Kilda providing a career rejuvenation for fellow premiership Tiger Dan Butler, could Rance find his way to Moorabbin and be that missing piece for the Saints backline to propel them to premiership contention in 2021?
Getting out of the Melbourne limelight at a more low key club like St Kilda could be exactly what Rance is after.
