With a new season on the horizon, we begin to dissect how each club's list is coming together following weeks of glueing in the pre-season.

While the more notable names in Adam Cerra, Jordan Dawson and Hugh Greenwood are sure to be making waves in their new colours prior to Round 1, several recruits from the off-season are sure to add an exciting edge while going somewhat unnoticed in the headlines.

We cast our eye over some of the more underrated recruits of the off-season and what value they're sure to bring in 2022.

2. Jarrod Brander (Greater Western Sydney)ย

Despite being culled by West Coast at the conclusion of last season, Brander played a significant role for the Eagles in adding versatile depth to their list.

Standing at 195cm, Brander is able to play as a key position option at either end of the ground, while also framing as both an inside and outside taller option in midfield, as shown in his time at West Coast.

While his best role may not be defined just yet, Brander is sure to plug any hole that may be required under Leon Cameron this year.

The Giants have faced tolling injury numbers ni recent seasons that have derailed campaigns and flag hopes, with a flexible addition in Brander potentially being the needed catalyst to aid their woes.
