Kicking off with Round 3!
3. Hot Dogs and Noble defeats
Along with Bruce, the rest of the Dogs team were also hot as they recorded their biggest ever victory, demoralising North by 128 points. The Dogs increased their scoring power as the match progressed, kicking four, five, six and finally 10 goals in the last quarter. This is the only time in the clubs history they have ever kicked four goals in the first quarter and then increased their goals per quarter in subsequent quarters of the match.
On the other side of the coin, David Nobleโs inglorious start to his AFL coaching career has seen losses by 52, 59 and 128 pts, however he can take some solace in the fact that the last two AFL coaches to start in similar fashion were Guy McKenna with Gold Coast, who went -119, -71 and -90 before winning in his fourth career match, and Richmond's Damien Hardwick, who went -56, -77, -55, -55, -39 and -108 but is now, of course, a three time premiership coach.
