With the big news breaking today that Leo Messi will be leaving Barcelona, the sporting world has gone into overdrive suggesting where he may end up.
From Paris, to Manchester, to even Los Angeles, there's no shortage of quality internet work being done. While in soccer, it's not uncommon for players to move, the size of the name in this scenario warrants a double take.
It's gotten us thinking. Over the years, the AFL has increasingly gone down this path, with player movement in the off-season becoming the norm.

With this in mind, we decided to take a look at the some of the biggest moves the AFL has ever seen.
Not just in size of the name, the money or the destination. But in terms of the impact that it had. Here are the ones we think have created the biggest splash over the years.
9. Tom Boyd/ Ryan Griffen
This one may seem strange to feature here, however it has to be mentioned. With the Bulldogs in tatters, captain Ryan Griffen lobbed a grenade into the mix when he requested a trade out of the club.
The shock of this was only matched when former number one draft pick, Tom Boyd, requested a trade back to Melbourne, to the Bulldogs, after just two years at GWS.
The move drew criticism from plenty of corners of the footy world. With people unaware of Boyd's mental health issues, the fierce commentary was incredible purely due to the volume of it.
A captain requesting a trade is also massive news, making this move one of the most staggering in recent memory.
As a result, the Doggies' premiership drought would be over, with Boyd starring in the big dance, while Griffen was plagued by injuries at GWS and never quite recaptured his best form.
